Why now is the right time to make the switch!
Moving away from traditional gas or oil boilers to an air source heat pump might seem daunting initially, but they offer many positives that homeowners should be aware of:
- By capturing the outside air, they generate renewable energy to heat your home.
- Working in temperatures as low as -15°C, even on the coldest winter nights there is still heat in the air that a heat pump can capture.
- Air Source Heat Pumps are kinder to the environment and more efficient than gas boilers – in fact, they’re four times more efficient!
- Using the air that surrounds us to heat your home produces cleaner, greener energy to reduce your carbon footprint.
Money savings available for you
Worried about the cost for an air source heat pump?
We know currently the initial outlay can be a little more than that of a boiler, but the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) can help you save. There’s £450million of grant funding available between 2022 to 2025 as an incentive to switch to renewable heating. As installers, Lewington’s can apply for £5000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump on your behalf for replacing a fossil fuel heating system.
Taking away the stresses of paperwork whilst leaving you with a warm home AND saving you money, what’s not to love!
The good news doesn’t stop there…
Home heating is one of the biggest carbon culprits, and Octopus Energy are on a mission to decarbonise UK homes. They’ve created a new solution for homeowners with existing heat pumps to save even further, by introducing Cosy Octopus. Customers can save an additional £100 yearly by switching to this tariff – this is in addition to the £200 annual saving on fuel bills already accrued through switching from a gas boiler to an air source heat pump.
